SHOCKING: Your Lawn Does NOT NEED This Micronutrient!
So does adding acetic acid help in making micronutrients more soluble in solution?
What do you charge for an acre ? For weed and feed
What is your take on liquid vs granular fungicide? Nobody really hits on that. I need some advice
How much for 2k sqft with how much water?
Regarding leveling, at least in my state it's recommended to topdress with topsoil/compost/peat even with all the downsides like imperfect leveling and weed introduction. The soil is Mississippi clay, especially in my area. "The grades of sand used in construction are most readily available. This sand has little water-holding capacity and no nutrient value. Seventy-five percent or more by volume must be mixed into heavy clay soils before there is any improvement in aeration, internal drainage or texture. Adding lesser amounts of sand can compound aeration and drainage problems. Sand mixed with clay can set up into a bricklike mixture. Peat or compost should be used instead to improve heavy clay soils. Sand applied as a top-dressing often seems to disappear into the soil but actually remains as a surface layer. So, sand should not be used alone as a top-dressing."
Great information thank you! Very well done
If I am using for residential Virginia Buttonwood, I see the rate of product. Can someone confirm that I am simply mixing with water?
I just found this and it was great! So much good information condensed and straight to the point but so clearly explained. I'm going to watch the whole thing again right now
You 3 could be the collective geniuses to take over youtube and actually school the diy'er but yet the guy you all talk about around the @1:20:00 mark is straight smoking your face 🤣. Keep up the bashing though, it'll probably work for you!
It works for us, as we have been doing it our way for the last 3+ years with over 65 shows a year. 1. Talk to cool people in lawn care, sports fields, and golf course management. 2. Talk to DIYers who share their unique challenges with us. We provide messages of caution for certain pitfalls and options for success. 3. Cover current events that are currently or will play a future role affecting the Green Industry and, more specifically, the turfgrass industry. 4. Call BS on the people who thumb their nose at our industry, best practices, or are just generally bad humans. It's not for everyone but, damn son, it's fun!
I’m just making a generic comment here regarding one of your podcasts I watched last summer. Advice given during the podcast was to make sure to thicken up a lawn before worrying about tackling Poa Annua. I followed that advice last fall and overseeded most of my lawn with more RPR seed. Since doing that I could not use a fall pre-emergent. My lawn is now close to 50% Poa. Needless to say, I’m very disappointed, frustrated, and stressed about the whole situation.
Hey Duncan, would you like to come on an episode and talk about this with the guys? We could run through the struggles you're facing now and help make a plan if you'd like. Let me know! -JPink
There is a chance I’m number 200. I’m the ignorant homeowner who didn’t just dip a toe in…..I jumped in head first. The science behind turf management is mind boggling and I like to learn. So here I am.
Genuinely, glad you're here brother 💪🙏
What contract was lawn coach given by Yard Mastery is another question
😅
1:03:30 Great naming sense
Yea I fully agree with the Mysoil part. It underestimated my PH by 1 whole point, it underestimated the amount of potassium and just about every micro in my soil. Get soilkit instead. They are just as easy to get as mysoil, you can even get them in Home Depot. They cost the same or less. They use a real lab instead of resin exchange. They also recommend much lower turf specific levels of nutrients.
I was glad to see an actual example of what Velocity can do. I live south of seattle, and Poa seems like it never ends here. Velocity is not registered in Washington State yet😢
Loving all the Bermuda grass talk. I ordered more plugs for my back yard.
Another great episode
Matt you and I have discussed this at length with regards to The DIY Lawn Coach's video and the estimate/contract that he was given. Glad this was pointed out. 👊🏻
As I sit in my B boy stance, with crocks and socks and sweatpants 😆
Yeah dismiss is too hot for my perennial ryegrass even at the low rate during late spring when the nutsedge starts to emerge.
Matt...I haven't touched grass on almost 3 years.....
You and me both 😅
GOOD TO SEE YOUR NAME!!!
Science makes you sleepy like a glass of red wine at the Cosby residence.
Is the guest a union member?
Great show!!!!
Is this combo ok to spray on scorching hot days? I'm changing this year to spraying fungicide vs. big box granular... but it's mid 90's for the foreseeable future and I have brown patch. If I'm using half the rate when combining to get the curative effects (1oz each per 1k), is that safe in extreme heat? Thanks guys!
Fall out with Shaddox??
Huh?
@@osuturfman around the 36:40 mark....
Geez I thought Hippie Fertilizing was far fetched. Soil Shepherd took the cake 😂
First, and hard. It would cost me like $300 to apply that earthworks product to my 15k sq ft lawn at the full rate. That's so much more expensive than a synthetic, and I'm guessing it's not worth the squeeze. Thanks for educating us fools.
The Scotts Guy is a wildling from GOT
Play clear the mirror 😂
We need more of these types of lawn “expert” channels offering proper information. Most of the public are sheep. Without easy to digest content we are left with the ignorant, greedy and flat out con artists “educating” the masses. Like the Hitler youth of lawn care mindlessly buying and applying. This channel and Travis’ channel are gold!
Super Juice!
Matt, I just want to start by saying Thank You for the time, effort and insight that goes into making videos/sharing your expertise to help DIYers, such as myself, to grow and experience a little succes when it comes to lawn care. My question to you is: Do you recommend applying the ammonium sulfate to lower pH in the case of a lawn that is alkaline due to having watered with filtered water for some years now, and struggling, especially during the higher temps of summer? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks! Yes sir, any lawn thats alkaline, I recommend ammonium sulfate
I looked up TENACITY current and former label it does not list DALLISGRASS
Good to see the twats are misdirected, keep it up
I wonder if other industries are similar to the green industry in that there are a bunch of old timers gate-keeping and just shitting all over anyone actually building a business.
I'm sure there are Jim B's everywhere.
Sure are. Plenty of secret keeping. Plenty of people so arrogant they forgot where they started. I was often asked as a child "can you walk on water like Moses?" if you cannot, better drop that attitude. Me poking at someone struggling would be met with the question "are you perfect?"
Matt, "I hate ginjas guts!!" Lol, are you in 5th grade bro?
Clearly you're not old enough to have kids, so I'd sit this one out.
@@TheGrassFactor im 53 with kids. You said that in reference to his lawn advice. I skip over the tabloid, personal stuff.
The Guru gracing us! Thank you for the opportunity for us 🫡
Love how people video them mis using shit on their shitty looking lawns. I spread fertilizer professionally daily and i dont have much time to video mixing some garbage. That lawn is tiny why not spread them seperately?
You guys having podcast hosting problems with Apple and Spotify now?
Shouldn't be, though there sometimes is a delay on episodes by a couple days depending. For instance, B&R should post on the Wednesday after, and WWW should post on the Friday after. Each should be available by 6AM Eastern. However, if JPink is out of town (like last week) or he sees something shiny then it might get delayed a couple extra days. You should see the latest episode of B&R posted this morning on the podcast feed.
6 months is not enough.
You guys are fucking hilarious 😂
Not only is Yardbrah misusing a product.. but he also posted the video of him getting it and filming the guy 😂 Video is : “Did this guy just save the season?” Posted 4weeks ago
The good ole days❤
What are your thoughts on sea kelp? Worth it?
